Christmas is Wednesday, and among the many holiday films available to watch is\u00a0Style Me for Christmas<\/strong><\/em><\/a>, streaming on BET+.\u00a0Mario\u00a0<\/strong>stars in the movie as Tedee Maxwell, an R&B heartthrob who offers a styling opportunity to\u00a0Raven\u00a0Goodwin<\/strong>\u2018s Tiffany Ford, a woman struggling to prevent eviction and keep her late mother\u2019s boutique afloat. The lines become blurred when Tiffany pretends to be in a relationship with him to help fix his playboy image, leading to some complications.<\/p>\n

Mario\u2019s an R&B heartthrob in real life, which is part of why he signed up for the movie. \u201cWhat drew me to the role was the fact that \u2026 I only had 25 days to shoot it. So \u2026 me knowing how to play [an] artist. I was like, OK, I can do this in 25 days,\u201d he tells ABC Audio. He loved that\u00a0Tiffany was a Black woman with a business who not only struggled but experienced victories, noting, \u201cI just like that message \u2026 [to inspire] young Black women who are entrepreneurs to \u2026 fight through.\u201d<\/p>\n

He also loved the idea of having a love interest\u00a0who defied\u00a0stereotypes and felt \u201cit was a great story\u201d that his late grandmother, whose favorite holiday was Christmas, would have been \u201cproud to see.\u201d<\/p>\n

Turns out Mario made a good decision, as he had fun working with the cast members, who he says \u201cfelt like family\u201d or \u201csomebody I knew in my life already.\u201d He also learned a lot as one of the producers on the film.<\/p>\n
