John Legend\u00a0<\/strong>is spreading some holiday joy as part of his A Legendary Christmas Tour. Named after his 2018 Christmas album, the trek arrives at a time when John finally has some free time on his hands.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve been wanting to do (another) Christmas show since 2018, but I\u2019ve been doing\u00a0The Voice<\/em>\u00a0every December since then,\u201d he tells\u00a0The Seattle Times<\/strong><\/em><\/a>.\u00a0\u201cSo, this was the first fall season of\u00a0The Voice<\/em>\u00a0that I wasn\u2019t on and so I thought, \u2018Why not bring back the Christmas tour?’\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI love doing this music because something\u2019s so nostalgic and warm and comforting about it,\u201d he says. \u201cSo many people enjoy coming together to celebrate the holidays during this time and I\u2019m excited to perform these songs again.\u201d<\/p>\n

The tour will also feature performances of songs from\u00a0My Favorite Dream<\/em>\u00a0and the deluxe version of\u00a0A<\/em>\u00a0Legendary Christmas<\/em>, as well as other hits from his discography. He just performed on Sunday in Seattle, a city special to the late\u00a0Quincy Jones<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u201cOh, I absolutely loved him and adored him, and I looked up to him before I ever met him,\u201d he said. \u201cThe first time we ever spoke, he was gently reprimanding me because one of my team members was kind of playing hardball with\u00a0Oprah<\/strong>\u00a0Winfrey<\/strong>\u00a0for an event that she wanted me to sing at. They were asking for all sorts of things and it got back to Oprah. Quincy is a good friend of hers.\u201d<\/p>\n

Though he describes their first encounter as \u201cmortifying,\u201d John says it was the start of a really good friendship.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe ended up being an important part of my life \u2026 I\u2019m just so grateful for the life that he lived, all the things that he contributed to popular culture and to the world.\u201d<\/p>\n
