While\u00a0Jay-Z<\/a>\u00a0still stands as the highest Grammy-winning rapper and most-nominated, Kendrick Lamar has moved forward with 57 career nominations, including seven for “Not Like Us” for Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Rap Performance, Best Rap Song, and Best Music Video. His feature on\u00a0Metro Boomin<\/a>\u00a0et\u00a0Future<\/a>‘s\u00a0“Like That”<\/a>\u00a0was also nominated for Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Song.<\/p>\n

Earning their first nominations in the Big Four (Best New Artist, Album of the Year, Song of the Year and Record of the Year) are Chappell Roan and Sabrina Carpenter, while Post Malone and Taylor Swift have become repeat nominees in pop and country categories for selections from their new albums\u00a0F-1 Trillion<\/em><\/a>\u00a0et\u00a0The Tortured Poets Department<\/em><\/a>, respectively.<\/p>\n

But while surprises came in the form of\u00a0Andr\u00e9 3000<\/a>‘s instrumental album\u00a0New Blue Sun<\/em><\/a>, which\u00a0was nominated<\/a>\u00a0for Album of the Year and Best Alternative Jazz Album (while one track was nominated for Best Instrumental Composition),\u00a0Chris Brown<\/a>\u00a0received a first Best African Music Performance nomination for “Sensational” featuring\u00a0Davido<\/a>\u00a0and Lojay.<\/p>\n

But the snubs were noticeable, as\u00a0Tinashe<\/a>‘s\u00a0“Nasty,”<\/a>\u00a0one of the most popular songs of the summer, didn’t receive a single nomination, nor did her latest albums\u00a0BB\/Angel\u00a0<\/em>et\u00a0Quantum Baby<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Other glaring snubs were Dua Lipa and Blink-182, despite the band’s reunion and making their first new album in 12 years with\u00a0One More Time.<\/em><\/p>\n

Surprise nominees include Beyonc\u00e9, Andr\u00e9 3000, Chris Brown in new categories, while others like Megan Thee Stallion and Tinashe were snubbed.<\/p>\n

Nominations for the\u00a067th Annual Grammy Awards<\/a>\u00a0have officially been announced, with top categories including some of our favorite artists, while others were noticeably snubbed.<\/p>\n

Unveiled on Friday (Nov. 8), the leading nominees for the upcoming awards ceremony are\u00a0Beyonc\u00e9<\/a>\u00a0with 11 nominations,\u00a0Billie Eilish<\/a>,\u00a0Charli XCX<\/a>,\u00a0Kendrick Lamar<\/a>\u00a0et\u00a0Post Malone<\/a>\u00a0with seven nominations and\u00a0Chappell Roan<\/a>,\u00a0Taylor Swift<\/a>\u00a0et\u00a0Sabrina Carpenter<\/a>\u00a0with six nominations.<\/p>\n

Beyonce, now the most Grammy-nominated artist of all time with 99 nods, scored first-time awards categories for her eighth album,\u00a0Cowboy Carter<\/em><\/a>. The LP was nominated in the top categories Album of the Year, Record of the Year and Song of the Year for (“Texas Hold’Em”<\/a>) (which are among the Big Four); while “Texas” was also nominated for Best Country Song.<\/p>\n

Also from\u00a0Cowboy Carter<\/em>\u00a0is\u00a0“Bodyguard,<\/a>” which was nominated for Best Pop Solo Performance;\u00a0“Levii’s Jeans”<\/a>\u00a0featuring Post Malone was nominated for Best Pop Duo\/Group Performance; “Ya Ya” was nominated for Best Americana Performance; the\u00a0Miley Cyrus<\/a>-assisted\u00a0“II Most Wanted”<\/a>\u00a0was nominated for Best Country Duo\/Group Performance;\u00a0“16 Carriages”<\/a>\u00a0was nominated for Best Country Solo Performance; while the nomination for Best Melodic Rap Performance went to “Spaghettii” featuring\u00a0Shaboozey<\/a>\u00a0et\u00a0Linda Martell<\/a>.<\/p>\n
